What is MyDirection?

Kate Lindsay’s MyDirection is an interactive one-hour-a-week, 8 week programme, that uses ACT (Acceptance Commitment Training) -based interventions to help you to feel less stressed and anxious about life. Kate delivers her programme throughout Australasia, from her base in Sydney, Australia and Invercargill New Zealand.

As a result of extensive research as part of her Postgraduate studies Kate Lindsay developed her eight-week ACT therapy-based programme which is described as a “driver’s education course for living”.

Over the space of five years Kate has delivered 265+ MyDirection sessions, across age groups from primary school students through to tertiary and beyond.

“I have a passion for helping people to find their true direction and  to help them find the joy that exists in this wonderful thing called life. I’ve seen so many people benefit in so many different ways from this programme. It seems that no matter  your age, your sex, your walk of life –by the end of the programme you will become a calmer, more motivated and empowered version of your former self,” says Kate.

Five years on, Kate has created a range of programmes; for the workplace, one-on-one individual programmes, group programmes for adults, as well as her renowned programme for students. No matter the person or the group, Kate can offer a package tailored to your needs.

Kate’s one-on-one sessions and group programmes are both available online as well as face-to-face.

How do we know MyDirection works?

Over an eight month period during 2013 and 2014 Kate ran a pilot programme at Columba College, Dunedin, New Zealand, with a group of 14 and 15 year old female students. She simultaneously ran a pilot with a group of adult women aged 35-70. Likert scale questionnaires were used to test the participants over an eight month period – before, during and four months after the programme. The data analysis, the testimonials from the students and the women, and the feedback from the parents of the students and also the children of the women led Kate to conclude that the programme was indeed worth pursuing, as it had been proven to make a statistically significant difference in the lives of each of the participants.
