At times we all think we are the only person in the world who is struggling.
Even the most successful people have had many unhappy experiences as well as positive experiences. Human emotions shift all the time, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. Everyone experiences emotional pain, whether in the form of fear, anxiety, sadness, shame, anger, self-doubt…We all struggle to find and build friendships, we all struggle with love, we all fear rejection, we all think we are ‘not enough’. We all want to look strong on the outside even if we feel weak on the inside.
Kate Lindsay’s MyDirection course is an interactive one hour a week, 8 week programme that uses ACT (Acceptance Commitment Training) -based interventions to help you to feel less stressed and anxious about life.
Developed as a result of extensive research as part of her Postgraduate studies; the programme is based on ACT therapy, which has been described as a “driver’s education course for living”. It is about learning to be mindful; accepting uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, practising defusion, realising your values and committing to action that will make your life richer and fuller.
The MyDirection programme is designed to be taught either in small groups of 5-8 people or one-on-one. The group programmes are especially modified to suit any age and stage, including teenagers, university students, sports teams, school groups and personal development for adults.
Over the space of five years Kate has taught 265+ MyDirection sessions, across age groups from primary school students through to tertiary and beyond.
Kate delivers her programme in person from her base in Otaki on the beautiful Kapiti Coast as well as online globally via Zoom.
